Boring a 305 to 350
WebJan 4, 2008 · The 307 has a slightly larger bore, the same as a 283, and a shorter stroke which it shares with a 327. The 305 has the same stroke as a 350. Aside from that I've read that 307's usually have more or faster bore wear due to the alloy in the block. All things being equal the 305 probably makes power a bit lower due to it's longer stroke. So a 305 up against a 350 (even at the same horsepower) will always lose to the larger engine because the 350 will make more torque.
