With EFI, they recommend a starting battery, not a deep cycle. Deep cycle batteries show too much of a voltage drop while starting. A bad air intake temperature sensor can also cause it because of the same reason.

I have to first go into the advanced menu then go to the base timing tab and select "Set Base Timing". Crank the engine. The engine will fire and run. I then "unlock timing" and the car will continue to run.
